WORK PROGRESSES ON MAJOR ROAD IMPROVEMENTS AT CROSSWAY, THAMESMEAD


UPDATE: APRIL 11, 2008

Work is well underway on a major programme of work to improve the road surface, footways and structures at Crossway in Thamesmead. On completion this section of road will be adopted by Bexley Council as public highway.

The project includes work to three bridges, the locations of which can be viewed by opening the map (PDF file) below.

The work will require sections of Crossway to be closed for periods of between 10 and 12 weeks. The first bridge and associated road closures began on March 10 and affects an area between Pointer Close and Eastgate Close. Access to all side roads remain available at all times either side of the closed section.

Bus routes will continue to serve both open legs of Crossway but will not be able to run in the existing circular route until work is complete. Information on bus diversions can be obtained from London Buses on 0845 300 7000.
