WORK PROGRESSES ON MAJOR ROAD IMPROVEMENTS AT CROSSWAY, THAMESMEAD
UPDATE: JULY 1, 2008
The work is now over half finished to improve the road surface, footways and structures at Crossway in Thamesmead. On completion this section of road will be adopted by Bexley Council as public highway.
The project includes work to three bridges, the locations of which can be viewed by opening the map (PDF file) below.
The first bridge repaired was between Eastgate Close and Pointer Close and was opened to traffic on 27th May. The closure then moved to the second bridge between Curlew Close and Bayliss Avenue and the repair works here are well advanced. Access to all side roads have remained open at all times, either side of the closed section.
All buses are currently using the northern section of Crossway and turning at the Summerton Way roundabout. Information on bus diversions can be obtained from London Buses on 0845 300 7000.
