Landfill No.3
We operate a modern landfill facility which is fully permitted by the Environment Agency to take hazardous granular waste such as contaminated soils.
The landfill site is fully engineered and sealed from adjacent areas by bentonite cutoff walls. The water flow is controlled to prevent ingress into the surrounding groundwater and Tilfen Land has developed a complete Wetlands project which not only treats leachate from the landfill with constructed reed beds before discharging clean water into Gallions Canal but also provides a new habitat for wildlife including water voles and kingfishers.
