Nigel Houston began working for Tilfen Land on a consultancy basis in September 2004 and was subsequently appointed to the post of investment director. In May 2005 he was promoted to chief executive with a brief to progress the development programme, increase the investment portfolio and build on the company's role as one of the leading players in the development of the Thames Gateway region. Previously he was a director at Dwyer plc and director of investment at Langbourn, running substantial investment and development portfolios throughout the UK. Nigel has over 25 years experience in the property industry. Having started his working life as a graduate trainee sponsored by British Steel, he has a business studies degree, qualified subsequently as a chartered surveyor with Hillier Parker and, in addition to setting up and running his own business, has worked in agency, fund management and property company organisations.
